Best three wheeler

Which three wheeler would you suggest for hunting and trapping. I would be using it in the bush and a bit of mud. I want one that is powerfull enough to haul a deer out of the bush, but not too big so it can't fit into tight areas. Is the Honda Big Red a good machine, what else is there to get that meets the above requirements?

i think there is only one answer to your question.1985-87honda big red 250 i currently own a 1986 big red 250 and a 2001fourtrax 350 es[rancher] . even thouh my 350 is fairly new the only noticable differances are slightly more power and better handling due to an xtra wheel. don't get me wrong i love my 350 but there are some things i like beter on my big red. althouh my es has worked flawlessly.i have to admit all the electronics make me nervous. i have been an auto tech for 20 years and have learnd that the fewer the electronics the beter, if it can fail it will. the reason i think the 250 big red is the best is one word durability you just can't kill these bikes, about the only thing that will break are the fenders. some nice features that tou may not know about are, removable head light with 25 ft cord, large storage compartment, the whole fender assembly tilts way back for easy cleaning and maintanance, fully enclosed shaft drive, bull low 1st gear, reverse, electric start, and light weight [413 lbs dry].i have 25/12.5 /9 bear claws on mine, and it will follow my 350 es anywhere. just incase i get stuck i installed a 2000 pound super winch that was way easy to install and is a perfect match for this machine. the engine is just a de bored 300 fourtrax put on 3 wheels, and incase you don't know the 300 was and is the most durable quad on the planet. i hope i helped you with your decision. have fun, and ride safe.

Toytech just about covered it on the Big Red, I have a 86 I bought new and have never done anything to it except put some bear claws on the rear. It has got to be the toughest ATV ever built, mine has been under water more than once and used in the mud a lot. The engine still runs like new and uses no oil. If I knew then what I know now I would have bought a truckload of them back in 86 I paid $1600 and see them for sale sometimes now for $1500.

I'll pay somebody if they can break a Big Red with-out hurting themselves. They go through water like a submarine too. the snorkle is routed through the frame, up by the steering column, and the front end floats in water so the intake stays above the water. Very, very tough!!

Every time I have drowned mine out in deep water it was because I wasn't able to control it and it turned over sideways or upside down, if you can keep the front tire floating and keep it upright, it will go through water as deep as you have the guts to try.

If you want a good ATC for hunting and want to use it for fun allso than look at a 250SX, its a 250 big red with a hotter cam, full suspension, and its a little lighter around 375lbs. Other than the Cam the motors are the same, same gearing ,tree stump pulling 1st with reverse, electric and kick start and shaft drive. I have towed a chevy LUV truck in the sand with my SX so I dont think you would have a problem with a deer.
