Compression test on 11.5:1 piston
#1
I just did the comp test on my RWR 11.5:1 piston. I did not remove the decompression mech for the test however. Any way....I made four runs on a cold engine wide open throttle and got.
135, 145, 145, 145
Then I warmed the engine and made four runs again.
All four runs were 194.
Is this good for a high comp piston? remeber I did not disengage the decompression mech.
If I do disengage it what should my readings be?

I did a search and found that a similar question was asked not long ago. I used some of the tips and what not in the replies and was able to temporrarily disengage the decompression mech. and do a real test. I got 245 on the 4 runs I did. I would say that is great. In the other threads it was said that on a 12:1 piston they got 245 at sea level and 215 at 4500 ft elevation. Im around 1500ft. elevation and run the small cams. The 110 grind. Not bad eh
