My girlsfriends uncle has a 2001 model ds650 that he is wanting to sell me for 4500 dollars it needs some work (a pipe , four new wheels and tires and other stuff) It runns great and the body is in good shape is it worth it......

 

If i had to buy a pipe tires and rims i would try to get a little better deal than that . but thats just my .02 which with the recent downturn in our economy my accoutant now informs me it is only worth .005 oh well good luck [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] and welcome fourstrokefever[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

It all depends on your local market, but... I'd try to get it for less. Pipe and rims aren't exactly cheap items.

I got my DS in September. It had very low hours (you could still see the little blue lines on the tires) but it had been rolled so it had a broken headlight, and slightly bent heelguard and handlebars. I got it with a set of paddles for $4300; the guy was asking $5300.

 

I bought a 2001 DS for $3900. Just cleaned the carb and put a RW CDI and hasnt been touched. You should be able to get a better deal than that

 

i bought two 2001's brand new, out the door price was $5000, that was nov 2001, so for a machine that has wore out tires it seems a little high. i know they were closing them out when i bought but that just pushed the used price down. i think 4000 would be more in line. but i just saw a stage 1 2001, in very good condition asking $5995 at the local yamaha dealer. so if any of this is useful good luck, and if you want a used machine you couldn't pick a better brand to go with

 

I'd hand him 3K cash, see what he says. Money talks .........
