The WARN Co. just e-mailed me today with the part # for the 424 select for the Wolverine- it is 66056 for the 00-03 models - they have the 424 for the 95-99 models too. He said they go into production next week and I can put in an order with a local WARN dealer. If you are going to get an unlocker for the Wolverine I suggest you go with the WARN part and not the HIGHLIFTER unlocker which I bought and sent back because it was junk. The wolverine in two wheel drive is a blast to ride, powerslides, donuts and makes cornering in tight trail much easier- then pull the button on the WARN 424 and your back into 4wd on the fly.For the 280 dollars you spend it will be like having two quads.

The 95-99 Wolverine unlocker just replaces the drive shaft.. right? If that is the case can the 95-99 unlocker for the Wolverine be used on a 97 Big Bear? The shafts are the same OEM part numbers. Or is there more to it that just replacing the drive shafts?

It just replaces the drive shaft, but there is some mounting hardware that may or may not fit correctly on the Big Bear.

From what I see theres more than just replacing the shafts you need all new seals, ring clips, see if what is all needed in a installation and match up the part #'s

there wasnt more replacing the shaft on my 2001 wolverine I did the 424 and I say it is a definate must have. I love it. i can powerslide for like 40 feet when cornering in a dry field. you wont be doing wheelies and the acceleration/ power isnt affected but the handling is a load different in the trails and other places where your horsing around

All that needs to be done is to take out the front differential bolts, slide it forward, stock shaft slides out and then 424 slides in. You just reuse the stock protective boots and retaining rings from the stock shaft, and put them on the 424 shaft. It is very simple and takes maybe an hour to do the whole thing and mounting the cable.
