Default Anyone Installed A Tachometer on Their Raptor ?

This is something I have always wanted to do. I saw a nice lookin one at Highlifters this past weekend. It was about an inch and a half in diameter. Had 3 wires for the hookup... Will this work on my machine ?

It would be really cool to have a tachometer. I've tried it with my old Honda 3 wheelers and couldn't get it to work. I was using an auto tach for a 4-8 cylinder engine. I know companies sell small digital ones that work with 1 cylinder engines, but a small dial/needle type would be awsome. I still have that old tach lying around. I'll fiddle with the wires on the Raptor maybe I can get it to work. One to ground and the other to the orange on the coil? We'll see....

I use the Yamaha Hour meter and tach. It cost 49 dollar for and it well worth it....

If you get a programmable Dyna CDI box, you can hook up a shift light. It also has an output for a tach, but then you have to find one that will work for a single cylinder.

I got a digital one froma dealer, they ordered it through parts unlimited. And it was $150, probably not worth it but I like it. I can get a pic if you want to see it.

I also have always wanted to get an automotive style tach for my Raptor. A round one about 2-2 1/2 inches in diameter. Doesn't the DS have a tach? Could you maybe buy one of those from a Bombardier parts dealer and rig up a way to mount it on the Raptor?
