I've seen those before. They also have a very useful hour meter. I think I'd like a dial/needle type tach better though.

 

I run a Tiny Tach on mine. It is digital and does not respond real quickly with changes in RPM's. But it was only $40 and I can get a pretty good idea of where my RPM's are and it keeps track of the hours for oil changes.

 

the cheap Tiny Tach is real slow in response time, every 2.5 seconds.
the Commercial model will responed every second and has 4 timers built in too.
65 bucks though, not the mere 36.95 as the basic model is.

 

How does that Tiny Tach hookup? To which wires does it install to?

 

You wrap a wire around the spark plug wire and connect a second wire to a ground. That's it.

 

If you know how many pulses per revoultion the raptor puts out you can email Autometer (maker of the DS tach) or other companies such as Westach or Suntach and see if they have anything. I was looking at a Westach for my quad. I found out that it has 6 pulses per rev so I emailed Westach and they have one that will work for $80. I am sure that Autometer has something that will work
