Silver Lake Dunes - April 12th.
#2
Hmm.. Sounds like a deal to me. I recently got my drivers licence, so there will be many many trips out there. Its my first time out there, what would I need to get to park there? No dune voucher, right? Will there be lots of DNR? I dont have spark arrestors, and it runs like crap with the stock silencers on. Is there anything I can do to the silencer to make it an arrestor? I have approx. zero dollars, so no money for sparky spark arrestors.
Thanks, sorry for all the questions..

You may have a shot to get in this time of year, but they have been pretty strict about the spark arrestors. They want to make sure that you don't catch their sand on fire. ha ha
They check it by inserting a plastic rod into the pipe to see if it hits anything.
Most people do get the Sparky's.
No Parking vouchers will be needed yet.

J. and I have made it official that we will be going but Diamond D and Ab will not. We also have Haspin the following weekend so don't puss out on that. We'll see how good the Raptor is in REAL riding.

P.S. To anybody thinking about it. Let me know who you are and I'll let have a ride on the V-force or the C-dale if I see you. We're all in this together and I want to open peoples minds to what out there.

RaptorRy,
That can be a LONG, ROLLING trip across Lake Michigan in spring. I've got "sealegs" and I got green on 2 occasions. Whatever the case, when they start playing "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" on the intercom just remember, Silver Lake is due east.
I don't believe the Badger starts running till the middle of May anyway.

Hows the riding at Silver Lake?? You always hear about the big dunes on here but nothin about Silver Lake. Is it worth the 12-13 hour drive for 3-4 of us? This sounds like a weekend all of us may be open for? How do they do the dB limit test? Thanks for any info.
