TextHi all,
I got my new 2003 500ho, to replace the 2002 500ho that I rolled a
couple of weeks ago.
I had the dealer take the winch of of the bike before it was sent away to junked.
The winch is a warn 2000 that came free with the 2002 HO
Now I need to install it on my new bike , but how ??
all of the wiring, and switchs are there, but I don't know where they go. There is also a syloniod with wires hooked up to it.
I would like to know the the simplest way to hook it up ?????????? and most trouble
free way.
came someone tell which color wire goes where ??
Or can someone sent me a diagram ???
thanks

Why don't you e-mail the company that made the winch, and ask them this question. My brother bought a 12 volt ATV sprayer, new in box, but without any assembly instructions (it was all in pieces) The company, within 4 or 5 days had mailed him a complete set of assembly instructions, as well as the wiring diagrams on how to hook it up. I think that would be far easier than trying to explain it over the intternet. I guess I could try, but it might sound confusing...
Hook up the solenoid to the battery.
Hook the heavy wires to the winch motor.
The lighter wires go to the winch control switch.
As to which color wire goes to which terminal, it depends. Green is ALWAYS grounded to the frame, red is usually positive, and black negative. Route all wires so they are least prone to getting snagged by anything.
That's about all I can do without actually seeing the thing. Proper assembly instructions should show you exactly where each wire should go.
One other thought, maybe the dealer has the installation instructions for a new winch on the shelf, and they could photocopy them for you? Just a thought.

I got all the info from the warn website.Text
re: 2002 500ho totaled
$8100 parts $1100 labor Canadian $$$
i have two cracked ribs, and a few bumps.
Getting better everyday, and have started riding a little again.
It was three weeks saturday nite that I rolled my bike. The new helps me not miss the old one.
I bought the same model, and color, and size, just a 2003, instead of a 2002
