crankcase noise? bearings?
#1
Just got my flywheel back from HPD. I had it race lightened. After I re-installed
the flywheel and started it up, it now makes a loud noise just above idle. Almost
like a loose spring or screw rubbing against a hollow metal can. I thought maybe
it was in the pull start housing. So I started it and removed the pull start housing
and found that the sound is coming from inside the crank housing. So Mike at HPD
thinks it is the bearings. So if it is the bearings my question is. Is there an upgrade
for the crank and bearings? Is this about the averge life of the bottom end?
Oh--I forgot-- I have a 99 trailblazer that has been race ported and the reed cage
conversion from HPD is installed and a lot of other stuff but I don't want to bore you.
Thanks!
