Default Speedometer help

Problem: speedo had gotten moisture in it , it worked for about a year then sh@# the bed.
I bought a new one today installed it the light inside works, the digital display shows all
00000000im like it should, but the needle wont move. Do I need to replace the sensor also or is
their somthing else I need to do?I would like to think that I didnt just waste $220. Help please.

Default Speedometer help

Talked to dealer, he said that it has to be a bad sensor so I guess ill put another $80 to find out if
this is the problem? Maybe someone here might come up with another opinion.
