whats the down and dirty truth about dial a jet. are they really worth the money?
I was thinking about this option with the PC pipe or the fmf pwrcore. possibly considering the ids too.
any thoughts

I've been running one on my Raptor for about 5 months now. Works good. Haven't had any problems with it. Only thing you'll have to realize is that it doesn't do anything for your idle circuit. You'll have to adjust out the fuel screw(s).

Got one on my warrior...was testing it before i bought on for the raptor. anyways i live in the same neck of woods as you and ride all year round. i've got the WB e-series, proflo filter, motoforce airbox lid. i bought the dial-a-jet to dial in the performance when the air changes from Hot thick muggy summer air to crisp thin winter air. it works as advertised...throttle seems more responsive. installation was apiece of cake.
where do you ride?

well, thats kinda what i was thinkin. with all the different seasons and the different elevations, I was wondering if I just just go for the dialing ability but wasnt sure if it was worth the $$ or even how hard it would be to adjust on the warrior. It it doesnt make the processes any easier that is... anyway Im still trying do decide on a pipe... ids, fmf or pc.
I typically ride alot of powerlines and rr beds, windham, pelham, hudson, londonderry and the trails off 111 although lately I havent been riding all that much. I have some buds that go up to bearbrooke but now that the snow is melting, im not sure what is going on there. I would however like to start again soon. I found a nice little spot in danville but I havent tried it yet, I was thinking of taking a trip up in a month or so, maybe less.

I'm not sure if your looking to mod the 250 or the warrior. if its the warrior i reccomend the White brothers e-series. if your interested i'll let you take mine for a ride and see what you like. trails start in back of my house. I live off of little Island pond in pelham. i can always trailor it to windham depot.

I finally sold the yz which i loved, it was the best bike I have ever owned and ridden. it has/ had a cobra hush puppy which was a very good pipe for the bike. Now I am lookin to mod the warrior... Ive heard alot about WB but they tend to r@pe ya on the prices. I dont want to spend all that much on the pipe and jet.
where do you buy your stuff, in hudson, manchester, plaistow or online?

Best prices from Rockymountainatv.com or Ronnies.com. i never by from the dealers. talk about getting rapped.
i'll ride anywhere...hell i trailor my raptor to uxbridge to ride track. but i've got the warrior for the trails. we could ride the trails @ my house. from there i can get to Methuen Ski hill (if you like hill climbs), plenty of trail riding (ride all day and never see the same place twice), powerlines that cut across rte 38...hop on those and there a sand pit near Brox (quarie), dracut. as you can see my trails take me through metheun pelham and dracut.

for parts in stock, hudson seems to be the most reasonable out of the three, I was lookin at a dg front bumper from them for 60 or so maybe even a bit less, its been awhile since I was there...
Ive been to brox, when I had the yz, I know the trails your talkin about. never been up to uxbridge though.
so is the dial a jet for the warrior a pain to adjust or does it really make life easier??? the warrior carb is a bit of a pain to work on...

The dyno/custom quad shop that I go to puts the Dial-a-jets on every single quad they build. They specialize in street and dirt and sand drag Banshees. They do everything from piped/ported Banshees to wild Nitrous and turbo Banshees. They swear by the dial a jet for getting the max HP and tuning ability out of your engine. The place is called DynoEdge, and their # is 248-620-6188 if you wanted to ask any questions about the setup/tuning of the Dial-a-jet. Good Luck!

There you have it...when i added the motoforce airbox lid and proFlo filter i piped it and instead of jetting it i just added the Dial-a-jet. Heres why...with those mods, i should've gone up on my jet size. with the dial-a-jet, it asks you to drop down a jet size or two. that basicaly would've brought me back to stock.
Installation was cake. i had to drill a hole into the float bowls on the carb (that was a little scary) and screw their tap in. you then use their cutting tool and punch a hole into the intake boot. screw the dial-a-jet into the boot...run a gas line from the dial to the tap wrapping it over the top of the boot to prevent vapor lock...and your done. theres a heat shield for the gas line and a ty-wrap to keep the dial in place put thats pretty much it. (ive got digital pics im trying to post on myPage...keep lookin out for it)
it definately works. i had to adjust it this winter (i ran studs on the ice 0-20degress) and rich'n it up. it was bogging on the top end. click! all gone. recently it warmed up to 50 degrees...their was hesitation in the low mid range....Click! Click! all gone.
i'm not real knowledgable when it comes to carbs. i would not have been too happy re-jetting back-n-fourth. not to mention how many times i would have gotten it wrong...or strip one of those tiny screws. anyways...i think i've gotten my moneys worth from piece of mind alone. that responsive throttle is also a nice addition.
especially for a warrior.
