2007 Mojave?

So what do you think? Will the Mojave still be around, unchanged for its 20th aniversery? Wouldn't that be wild! For those of us who were around when it was first intoduced in the summer of '86 as an early release '87, I'd be shocked. If it happens I wonder if there has been a model anywhere that went 20 years of production with no significant changes. I bet they kill it off just because the press would be bad even though it is a good selling model.

Here are my thought's:
As long as they continue to have strong sales (especially for an entry level quad), they will continue to keep this model in their line-up. The tooling for this model was paid for years ago, so any money made is stricktly profit. Unless they build a new quad to take it's place, I think this quad will contine to be around because it fills a void.

Those are my thoughts exactly. I didn't make up the good selling part. One of the mags said it was a good selling model for Kawi. Since Kawi is the smallest of the big four, a good selling model to them would be a weak selling model for Pol or Honda.

Hmm, i was thinking about that last week. I think the Mojave is awesome the way it is, infact i am considering buying one very soon. the Mojave Sells Extremely well, and every year it sell more than the last year, so Kawi would make a bad move by Dropping it. But i was thinking that all they should do, if anything, is maybe put some Sportier Aggressive looking Plastics on it, and a somewhat lighter frame, and maybe lengthen the Shocks a little, than it would be even better than it is.
If you noticed, Kawi Suddenly dropped the lokata, as for the 2003 lakota's are actually left over 02's. so my Guess is there making some changes to it, and if that is what there doing, than you can bet the Mojave is next up for a change. and Kawi also said back in 01' that they will have a brand new Quad for every year in the future, Prarie 650 for 01, Prarie 360 for 02, KFX 400 for 03, and KFX 700 for 04, so come 05, GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (just do the math)

I'm surprised you are going to buy a 400EX. Its a nice quad but the lack of reverse would really suck. If I were to buy a new quad tomorrow it would be a Z/KXF 400. But, my Mojave does what I want so I'm not in a hurry to replace it.

dont listen to rock, I just bought a 400ex to replace my raptor. the z400 is tall like the raptor. Yeah it has a whole 2 hp more, and reverse. But the 400ex is lighter. It might not be much lighter on paper, but it feels lighter when riding and when lifting it up into a truck. Its less top heavy, has better suspension and balancing. And I have no problem pushing that 400 backwards in the sand with my feet. I would rather do that instead of adding all the extra weight of the reverse system. I like the ex better. And i have ridden my freinds 400z a lot in the sand. The reverse is useless unless you get rid of the rev limiter on it. Cant go anywhere in the sand. But thats the sand i guess.

I'v never put both machines on a scale ,but in the books the 400ex is 375lb and z400 is 372 lb.What would the z400 weigh if it didnt have reverse and if it were air cooled. But hey if you like the ex better thats fine to each his own.
