I am going to cut a hole in my KFX 700's air box. It will be 1 inch tall and 5 inches wide, I want a good power increase of about 4 horse pwoer. Any other horsepower tricks would be appresciated.

 

The Jets are real eazy to change.... and I like what the Dial-a-jets did for mine.

I did not cut that big of a hole (yet??) mine was about 1 3/4 inch square.

I will wait for that until install the dual exhaust tomorrow to determine the
addditional jet/air box changes.

The dual exhaust is said to have produced 7 rear wheel horse power with
only jet changes.... no air box changes.

 

ShaneB .... what would you guess the air box and jet changes would be
if you put a dual exhaust on ????

 

I brought home a HMF dual exhaust this evening..... they said 7 Hp at the
rear wheels with only jet changes.


I also have a set of Dial-a-jets on this quad .....

I did the nyroc mod on a 700 with a 1.5x2.5 airbox hole and wen't up one jet size. I had the chance to race a stock 700 and they were close until about 45mph and then the moded one would gain about 5 lengths in a quarter-mile race. I was happy with that.

 

Sascach ..... I have a simular size hole in my air box .... and went up to
142/145 jets with a set of dial-a-jets on the top side......

I can tell you it likes that much gas .... and seems to have gained some
horse power ... it lifts the wheels by jabing the throttle while crusing
at faster speeds now.

 

Have you checked your top speed yet??

 

Put the Duals on ... need two holes in the air box to ballance everything [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Haven't checked top speed yet ... don't have a place long enough here.....

 

Well noone has still not answered my question, hoow much power will i get with the holes.
