Default does a lightnened 2.3 lb flywheel screw up the clutching?

I was ready to pick up my HPD lightened by 2.3lb flywheel when the mechaninc was asking since it's less rotating mass means less torque which means higher reving as well as the faster reving, so he was concerned that the clutching would be screwed up. Is this correct? I never concidered the flywheel weight as a factor in my clutch selection. I know I bugged buubba & others about the clutching & thought I had it figured out until this flywheel concern. Maybe it's nothing. Anyone out there have to adjust their clutching after they got a lightened flywheel?
Thanks again,

I haven't had flywheel lightning, but In my opinion I think the answer is no. The clutch has it's limits. It cannot go beyond what it is tuned to do. Flywheel lightning will make it rev quicker, not faster. I would think this would cause the clutches to go into high ratio quicker and increase acceleration. But, I don't think any clutching changes would have to made. These are my opinions and If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

Power or torque changes would mean changing the clutching, but you wont have to do anything by just lightening the flywheel. You will notice that it will rev quite a bit faster.

I remember when I first got mine back, stood in the driveway like a yahoo, just blippin' the throttle....felt like one of the "Is that a Hemi" guys. Sure made a nice difference.

hey modquad, ncscrambler and bubba what do you think my tb is great with the 34mm now i need to get my clutching great bottom end and exceleration but i noticed if i hold it wide open it will flaten out in the mid range for a while then all of a sudden not really fast but you can hear the rpms start to come up and really start to pull again and i would like it to back shift better i know a steeper angle on the helix will do this and so will moving it to the 2-3 holes right and the rpms will come up about 200 rpms? i want to run some harescrambles so what do i need for clutching give me some ideas thanks a bunch
