LT 80 Crank key / clutching
#1
My son's LT 80 clutching is screwed up. It's loud, and has a bog. Upon inspection I keep getting grooves on the movable drive face plate, starter gear and fixed drive face. I'm guessing the key is not keeping the movable drive face in place. I replaced all parts that were grooved and put it back together. After a quick test drive, same bog and all parts are starting to groove. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums.
It's a good guess that you are not aligning the key with the roller plate or it's slipping out of place, durring installation.
You must make sure that the lil key is in the roller plate notch.
Align the key/notch then hold the variator and stick the spacer in. It should stay in place BUT if it wiggles/moves, you must check again.
It's either that or the nut isn't tight.
FYI: the washer under the nut is a spring washer..Dome out.
