Default Tire stagger on 4x4's

After reading a few post's in here about front to rear tire stagger I thought I should tell you all that some of the post's about it are wrong. It's all about %. To make it simple think of it like this; If you have a rear tire that is 20" and add 2" by going to a 22" tire that is 10%. On the same quad you have let's say a 18" tire, add 2" by going to a 20" tire, that is 11.1%. Close but now the front tire is too tall to keep the proper ratio built in by the factory. Confused yet?
OK, try it this way. Using sprockets . If you have 12 teeth on the front and 48 on the rear for a 4:1 ratio , (48 divided by 12). Now if we add one tooth to the front we have 48 divided buy 13 = 3.69. Now if we want the same ratio as the 13 front we need to add 4 to the rear to make it 13 and 52 (52 divided by 13 = 4)
I'm pretty sure this is correct. If I'm correct by assuming the factory has a % calculation used in tire size we need to be very carefull. Also it is not about height, it's about circumference, and air pressure can change that just by how much it streches the tire.
Now I think I have confused a few more. Just hate to see someone take out their 4x4 gearbox. Be very carefull.
