Default Help locating parts 98 big bear 4x4, please.

Hey everyone,

I need some input/help from you all. Maybe you can point me in the right direction or possibly have what I'm needing.

I am looking into buying a 98 Big Bear 350 4x4 that needs some work.

I'm gonna need a crankcase, crankcase cover, timing chain, front u-joint.

Any ideas on where to start looking for these parts? I'd like to pick them up used, rather than having to dish out a small fortune on the new parts from a dealer. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

The tusk does fine for light work, but it isn't gonna pull your up a steep creekbank. I found this out yesterday, we swamped a friend's kodiak and I tried to winch him out, I couldn't do it. I pulled him about half way and it wouldn't pull anymore. It would have probably helped if I would have been further away, I only reeled out about 10ft of cable, so the actual pulling power on it wasn't very high at that short of cable.

I've gotten stuck several times and it's done fine in straight pulls, a ****** block would probably make a world of difference in it. If you are looking for something that will handle the light stuff, getting you out of mud that is a straight pull, then it will probably suit your needs. As for steep creekbank pulls, it's not gonna do it without some line feed out or a ****** block.

We hooked his warn up on his kodiak and it winched itself up the creekbank without the kodiak even being turned on, so that right there really showed me how much more powerful a warn is.

Hope this helps. Thanks for the link.
