How much bleeding?
#1
Installed whole new master cylinder on Scram 400 and bled the lines for a half hour. Prolly pumped out enuff brake fluid to drown a horse. How could there possibly be air in the lines? We are doing it by the book and pumping slowly. There is good braking but it seems like it could be better. Is there anything we could do to just make it lock up a little better?

on my 250 trailblazer there was alot of air in the brake lines cause of that my brakes didn';t work good pumb the foot brakes and bleed the brakes thats what i did. and it worked alot better after that.

Are you bleeding it into brake fluid and watching for bubbles to disappear as you are doing it? Very important because as soon as you quit bleeding, without the oil there, you will suck air straight back into the system.

I just ran a hose from the back bleeder (the one that's operated by the hand brake) into a half full bottle of fluid. I just kept pumping the master cylinder down halfway and refilling til I filled the bottle in the back. Never closed the bleeder til the bottle was full. Then when I did close it down the brake handle was rock solid.
Whats the condition of your brake pads, are they all good? Also if your caliper seals are blown it will make your hand brake feel spongy cause the fluid is bypassing the seal in that rear caliper. If you can open the bleeder on the rear brake (for the side thats for the foot brake) and fluid comes out when you squeeze the hand brake you know your rear caliper seals need replaced. Just some O-rings though, no big deal to replace.
