Id rather have a Banshee over a raptor but a lot of people are saying its expensive to maintain them. And right now i do a lot of trail riding...im gonna start racing later on. So i want something that would be good on trials and good at racing.

For you conditions the rappy is the way to go. It is a lot easier on the trails. The banshee has a killer feel to it but will wear you out to fast. Nothing against the shee. If i wanted a monster i would build up a shee. The rappy has all the features you need. Electric start, reverse, torque

The rappy would be good for overall enjoyment plus you could race it with a few mods.... banshee would probly be best for racing..

I just bought an 03 Banshee. Most likely it has a lot faster throttle response , and takeoff speed than the Raptor. The Raptor is heavier , and it's a four stroke. The Raptor comes with better stock tires , and that helps it's acceleration. I guess I need to race one.

The bike has some quirks.
The carburation seems to be a little out of tune. This seems to be such a problem that the bike comes with 4 sets of jets extra in varying sizes. If you've ridden a racing 2 stroke before the bike has a little noticeable bog.

As far as maintenance . Everything is pretty accessible. I'm waiting to see how everything holds up. The price for both bikes is about the same. I guess it's your preference between 2 or 4 stroke.

The only drawback to owning a Banshee ***Upgrades.*** TWO OF EVERYTHING.
THIS IS A TWIN CYLINDER BIKE***

2 CARBURATORS. EXHAUSTS, SILENCERS, CYLINDERS....

A modest exhaust upgrade is $ 600.00>>>>>

I hope this helps....

hmmmm....id get a Z400!!! hehehe But...im 5'6" and about 170lb...the raptor jus felt a bit too big for me. If your a big guy...go with the raptor. you can ride both the raptor and the Z stock and be happy. The shee...is gonna cost ya big bucks to make it *useable*!!! (toomy pipe kit and new shocks all around minimum) have fun!
