spring tension on the secondary??

I read on of the topics here and it said to turn the helix a 1/3 turn but when you do this it is very tight is this right if i put the setting at 2-2 the ramps on the helix are about inbetween the buttons so do you go just to the first setting or one more turn of the helix?

ok so if the helix ramps are in between the buttons a 1/3 turn to the buttons isn't right ?? you go past to the next set????? and one more thing my trailblazer is ported piped milled head and 34mm with stock clutching set up in the 2-2 and white spring in primary when i nail the gas it will come over backwards has great bottom end but when you hold it wide open the midrange don't pull the engine sounds it's bogging down it is still picking up speed but not nothing to great if you hold it there for a little bit the rpms start to come up and fast, then it will pull again really hard is my secondary spring to soft or what please help!!!! thanks

tweeker, you're secondary spring is too stiff,i didn't run such belt pressure on my modded 400,poor backshifting and no full shif out,
those quad doesn't need so much LBS in the secondary...
you can have a great first ride but as soon the clutch get to their peak operating temp,it slip, and you're loosing big deal in the power tranfer.

that it,i suggest to try 1-2 instead, less spring tension will give less belt slippage and better bachshifting (throttle response of the clutch)
but upshifting will decrease in the top end.

Not to contradict what scramblered is saying, but I dont like to go any less than 1-1 on the secondary spring. Also tweeker, if you hear the engine "bogging down" but your not losing speed, sounds like you need a different helix. If you still are running the factory helix, it is pulling the motor RPM's down on the top end. You need a split with the lower second number to keep the RPM's up. Just my opinion,Bubba

yes it's stock and thanks to the both for all the great info what do you think i should try for a helix or spring i see that the violet from hpd is comon they're about a hour away from me the reason i am having this dilema is that i have made my own pipe and it works great it's the clutching i wish i could test it against another pipe to see where it compares don't want to buy one just to see there kinda spendy to do what i want to do if you understand thanks again
