Default Water Skimming a DS??

Hey,

have any of you ever tried water-skimming (hydro-planing) the huge DS??

I used to have fun doing that on my friend's 400ex before he sold it, was wondering if it's possible on a DS??

I got Maxxis Sur Traks (same thread as bear claws) on the rear and dominators on the front, Thanks.

I'm sure it can be done as with any other fast quad. I'd start with puddles and work my way up though.

have a picture of my brother doing it with his on the refri right now, it said he hit it in 5th, told me all it takes is a set of nuts. i'm not sure why you would want to, but to answer your question it can be done it was with paddles. good luck on that one.

I almost made it across a little pond about 65 feet across but at the last 10 feet or so the nose dug in and the quad hooked sideward. I flew off and never even hit the water but did manage to break 2 ribs hitting the ground just past it. Not a smart thing for a 290lb guy to be trying

I've tried it a few times, the DS is too nose heavy to do it. I almost sunk my bike skipping across a short stream but deep, it was about 40' across and I'd say 6' deep. My buddies with 400 ex's can do over 200'.
