Water Skimming a DS??
#12
OH YES!! I do lots of water skimming!! LOL!! I can do it easy, but like someone else mentioned earlier it takes a set of ***** to do it!! In the winter I do it LOTS on the lakes. It's really easy, you just have to keep up your momentom. My friends and I had about a 40 ft section broke open and it was fun!! We had to hit her fast though! We could make it pretty easy in 4th gear pinned. I was a little scared the first time because I didn't want to drop it in the drink and I hit hit it in 5th gear wide open and it was too much speed to even have fun on it so I slowed it down a little....... You know.....more of a challenge.....pushinthelimit perhaps..LOL!!

Oh yes, it can, and I've watched much heavier bikes do it too. I've done it across small crossing like 30 feet, but I've seen fully stock ds's do it across over 100 feet that was 4' deep! My buddy used to have a Polaris Scrambler, and it can do it too. he crossed the same 100' of water 3 times. All were wearing paddles. vees and straights.
if you try it and wipe out, its your fault, not the bike. some people try to hydroplane where the entrance to the water is too sharp, and not flat enough - that's the worst!
