Sending exhaust back to Big Gun?
#1
I have one of the original exhaust systems Big Gun made for the DS. I purchased it back in June of 2000.. After a few short weeks the finish went to he!!.. It has since started rusting and just looking bad all around. You can kinda see what Im talking about in this picture.... Big gun said for $165 that I could send my exhaust to them and they would clean it up, re pack it, and put a new coating on it. He said it would look like new...
My question is, should I send it to them and then Big Gun get $165 more of my money or should I basicly just not give Big Gun anymore business and get a new system? Has anybody ever sent the exhaust back to Big Gun and had this done?

Personally, I wouldn't give Big Gun more money. I'm very happy with my MBRP pipe, as are many other forum members. You might want to consider them. Their customer service is outstanding, not to mention the tremendous overall quality and fit & finish of their pipes. Their pricing is very reasonable, their products provide good performance, and their muffler requires zero maintenance!

When I first got my DS I thought I would get the Big Gun but, went with a less expensive pipe.
Now that I have heard all I would never buy a Big Gun.
Cleaned up $hit is still $hit. Dump the Big Gun and get a Ron Wood, Gradon, MBRP or something else. (I am sure others will have thoughts on what to get.)
Sorry you had the issue.

You guys are on the same page as me it seems like. I hate to put more money in Big Gun's pocket strictly because they made their product crappy the first time. I just wanted some opinions and to see if anybody had ever taken Big gun up on their $165 service...
What does everybody think about Bills Pipes full system?

well i bought the mbrp slip-on and the mount to the frame broke, so i called them and they are going to fix my pipe, rebuff it and pay for all the shipping, they have been very good at taking care of the problem, my pipe is on its way there as we speak, they said they are going to gusset all the new pipes so this doesn't happend again, finally a company who'll imediatly fix a problem with their product, over i'm pretty happy wit mbrp, i'd suggest them

I looked at the MBRP website the other day. They didn't list a full system for a DS, just a slip on. Was I missing it, or do they not have a full system? I would need a full systen due to the fact I no longer have my stock one... I am also running a Ron Wood stage 2 kit which needs the breathing room as well...

Me and my two riding buddys sent all three of our biggun systems back becouse they blistered and peeled. All they would do is recoat it in flat black, Stating that the silver would not hold up to the bomb's heat. What a crock. I got them back and none of us will use them. They looked like @##$$.ps we never could get the bolts to stay tight in the first place. We were out 1500 dollors for the three systems.

haven't they redisned there pipe? i think i would save the money and put it toward a different pipe. no complains with the woods or the graydon. they are loud though and we have to be on the watchout for the sound cops.
