I've got an 11:1 JE piston, and stage one cam with Craycraft headwork on my 686. I just got everything bolted back up and want to set the valves to the right tolerances. HotCams says to go with .20 intake and .25 exhaust.

I know this has been discussed before but I can't find anything in the search for this information.

Everyone is saying to run a certain tolerance to reduce the valve train noise that is tighter than the HotCam standard spec.

Can you guys with this combo let me know what the lash setting is that you've found to be the best?

he ment inches, you can goto .19 and .24 but thats the limit.

 

I think he meant .006" and .008" that's inches not mm

 

When I was running the stage one cam I ran .008 intake and .014 exhaust. This is in thousands.

 

I'm running stage 1 with .006 & .008 work great and not alot of valve clatter
