To anyone with a Raptor 660 and a stock grab bar.......
#1
I read a few times on here that the stock one is weak, and people mentioned breaking or bending theirs the first or second time they hit it but I kinda assumed they were on pavement or going REALLY fast.......etc.
I said to myself "Well,I've hit the one on the 400EX(that one is part of the subframe and stronger I guess) about a hundred times and never bent it. How soft could the 660's be?"
Well,its one weak little part.....hahaha
I just fubar'd my first wheelie and bent mine in proper fashion.
On SOFT dirt.
At the top of second gear.
Its not like I was doing 60mph or anything.
I'm actually gonna stop the wheelie festivities until I get a stronger replacement.
If I hit this one again its either gonna break and the bike will tip over on me,or it will bend some more and hurt the plastic.
I was REALLY surprised at how weak this thing is.
Considering the wheelie prone nature of the 660,I would think Yamaha would include a little better backflip protection than that.

I took mine off and replaced it with a six pack rack from Armadillo and its pretty strong, I can ride wheelies for days and if and when I go back to far I know I got the support to hold me up, and believe me, I have done it many times trying to learn to wheelie.
