attack atv's in iraq

Saw starkys post and got to thinking, why not give the green berets or rangers or seals banshees or raptors to quick attack in the middle east? Can you imagine hearing the scream of the banshee, only to find your a$$ is soon grass as dozens of special forces guys rapidly attack, then just as quickly disapear? Commandos on atv's, modern day calvary!! Lock and Load Starky, and all the others from the forum (or anywhere else)!!!!

SEALs use DPVs for that kind of work. They are a modified off road racing dune buggies by Chenowth Racing Products.
Using them in a patrol role around a specific area (like an HQ) may be ok. But as an actual attack vehicle, it seems to be almost worthless. Other than being fast, they don't offer much. Can't really put any armor or armaments on them. Maybe you could somehow manage a small submachine gun type of armament, but that would be it. Plus a fully packed up figther would weigh more that the official capacity of the bike.
You also wouldn't be able to fight from one. You would need to stop to even fire. I know I wouldn't want to be going as fast I could and fire a weapon at an enemy while stearing with one hand....over basically unknown terrain.
They might be able to use them for scouting where you could easily hide it. But that's what they have DPVs for. Plus the DPVs are three man vehicles. You have the driver and up to 2 gunners with what looks like 20mm cannons.
Some pictures:
Global Security DPV page (Note, also shown on this page seems to be a 4 or 6 person buggy as well.)
Corbis Stock Photos of DPVs (Obviously some on that page are not DPVs.)
They would have to be reliable (break down at or less than the same rate as other military vehicles).
