Default Outlander Clanking On/Off

My outlander makes a clanking sound when you get on and off the gas. I took it to the dealership and they regreased the rear trailing arms pivot joint, but it is still making the sound so I brought it back. Now they called me today and said it is just the slack in the drivetrain. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yea mine to, that what I think it is, it's just so smooth that you can really notice it but all machines have some slack, I don't think it'll be an issue.

You can feel the slop when you reach in & twist the drive shaft to the front diff back & forth.

Default Outlander Clanking On/Off

Hello I'm new to this site, lots of great info. I bought a 400 Outlander in July and have a horrible metal clanging/banging noise coming from the slack in the drive shaft. I took it to my dealer and they worked with the Senior Tech with Bombardier and the problem was isolated to be the drive shaft going into the spline of the engine, when you apply the brake and the back wheels lock up it causes a twisting back and forth motion. Bombardier acknowledges this problem, but there is no fix at this time and none will happen UNTIL WE FILL enough complaints to get them to come up with a fix. I'm concerned about longterm maintenance problem with the slack in these drive shafts..........SO WE NEED TO UNITE together on this problem to get Bombardier to come up with a solution for us. Please call them at 1-800-882-2900 to let them know if you have this problem. Thanks LanderLady
