Do those chrome radiator covers cause the bike to run hotter?

Default Do those chrome radiator covers cause the bike to run hotter?

I see these things everywhere and they say they help the engine cool due to the design... I see it as getting in the way of the radiator fins... Anybody do any research on this at all?

I see your point. But the one at alba I believe is polished, and not chrome. They are also bigger and offer more cooling area. And besides, for 400, they oughta do something!

I have had mine for over a year now, and the fan has yet to come on during normal riding, it has on some gnarly hill climb sessions on 90 degree days but only when I am really working the motor.

I like the extra protection from sticks and whatnot also. I got mine from the guy on ebay.
