Default 400ex or 250r

Hey, Im sort of new to "sport" atving so what would you guys recomend for tearing around a gravel pit doing small-larger jumps, Ill be riding with 2 Blasters ones got a pipe, and, if I can get him to come, a Predator. Im not expecting to compete against the Predator (very experienced rider, and not to bad an atv either but would not like to be beat by blasters if you know what I mean. I really like two strokes but wouldnt mind anything you suggest. I was wondering if the 250r,lt250 and Tecate, were mainly just for racing or if they could do small jumps also.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi again, I was just going to say that I am going to buy it as a used atv to have as a project and tear it all down and bring it somewhere to get the frame painted and some other cool stuff done too. Ill be moding slowly as money comes in so would like somthing that reacts well to different mods.

Thanks

Get a R.
Best jumper, responds very well to mods, easy to work on, lots of parts available, way faster than a Blaster or EX.

Get the 250R!! Best quad ever made. Don't worry about the Predator. I had a chance to ride one. It had decent power and a soft ride but it handled like crap compared to my R.

Hey trapperb1 or BlueBus does the r do very good jumping?? I know you said "best jumper" but it looks low to the ground like its just for racing. I have heard the 400ex handles well, but doesnt really have as much power as the newer atvs. How does the r handle compared to the ex and how heavy is the r.

Thanks for the replies

The R is the BEST jumper of all qauds (with the right shocks ofcourse) or even some decent ones will do. Its lighter than the 400ex by about 47-50lbs and handles alot better. Even though its only a 250 u'll be amazed at what it can do, the power to weight ratio is perfect. All the newer qauds have alot of power (raptor, predator, DS) but thats only to compensate for the weight. Get the R u WONT be disapointed
