Default Kodiak heat question

Hello. When I drive very slow in the wood for a long period of time my Heat light comes on. My question is this: Does this mean the atv is overheating or is this an early warning light? Is there a way to test my fan to see if it works?

Kodiac400 The fan should come before the hot light, my Kodiac's do, better check it before you end up buying a engine.

You should be able to hear the fan when it comes on. It is fairly loud. If it is not, you will need to get it checked out. I have also heard of some having to remove the side engine covers to let a little heat out.
