Raptor stalls in wheelies
#1
Whenever i ride a slow wheelie(in first gear) my raptor putters as if it was going to stall. If I hurry and push the gas all the way in it slowly revs and quits puttering. But by that time, I have already came down off my wheelie. Is there something wrong with my float? I didn't even jet it. The only engine mod I have is a K&N air filter. Anyone else have this problem?

mbrp, I am not sure. I put the filter on awhile ago. How did he adjust his floats? Maybe that is what I should try?

My Buddy's did that ..... we adjusted the floats ..... he can ride a wheelie "forever" now.
Adjustment requires bending a little tab on the float .... in this case it would seem that
you need to "raise" the float level a bit . ( warning.... a very tiny movement makes big change)

Thanks for the info! Does adjusting the float effect the quad when you aren't riding a wheelie? Is there two floats because of the two carbs? Should I adjust both? Thanks again.

I just had the same problem, it is the floats. You need to adjust them so that the fuel level in the bowl is just a little over where the bowl and carb base meet. To check your level put a clear hose where the black drain hose is on the bottom of the carb, then loop it up next to the carb and open the drain screw. it will fill up to the fuel level and you can see how high it is that way. Like I said, you want to adust the floats untill that level is right around 1/8" above the bowl mating surface. Mine was like 3/8" at first and would die doing wheelies, I did the float adjustment and problem solved. Good luck

on the grizzly's, the same thing has happened to many, when comming out of a hole on a steep bank. in other works, in high rises. the dealerships have adjusted all the floats 2mm on the carbs, and solved peoples problems. sounds like the same problem.
