Default Advice about MX on a Zilla

What I was looking for was for others who own them and have raced them to give me some advice on mods, setup or anything else on getting started. This will be the first quad that I have mx'd. I have mx'd motorcycles for quite a while so I have the basics of racing covered already.

The Zilla is almost all stock, stock bore, FMF Gold series pipe and power core silencer. I plan on getting 20" holeshots and running stock gearing to start, unless better advice comes along. Starting out the shocks are stock, this will change as money comes available. I was looking at the Works shocks(mostly budget reasons). Beyond the shocks what other mods would be a priority?

One item I havent found yet would be the Nerf Bars. I havent looked extensively yet but plan to. If anyone has a used set or info on new ones please let me know or message me please. I already have the tether and number plates are no problem. Also have my mx gear, minus a chest protector. Is there anything else I am missing here?

Thanks for any input and if possible I dont want to hear about a 250 (lt or r) or any other model being a better mx atv, I know there are some. I wanted the Zilla for other reasons and am also going to give mx a try with it. Thanks.

the key to mx is to keep the tires on the ground! run 18 in the rear and 19or20 in front try not to cheep out to bad on the suspension its the most importain part! good luck
