Default Drag Racing Help Needed!!

I was racing a few buddies the other day(one banshee, one Z400) and while racing i could be the banshhe, but the z400(stock), would keep right there, he got much better holeshots and just pulled from the start. Do you guys have any tips for racing, the start(what gear) how high you reving the engine etc etc, and whats the best way to switch QUICK. thanks for the tips, i want to learn so i will be on the BETTER side.

START OFF IN SECOND GEAR, THAT HELPS A LOT. JUST SIT VERY FAR FORWARD AND DUMP THE CLUTCH AND YOU SHOULD LAUNCH GOOD. IF YOU ARE BEATING A BANSHEE, YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE Z400.

YA I DON'T SEE HOW YOU ARE BEATING THE SHEE BUT NOT THE Z400. UNLESS THE RIDER ON THE 400 IS A SUPER EXPERIENCED RIDER AND YOU AND THE GUY ON THE SHEE ARE JUST STARTING OUT, YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEMS. TRY NOT HOLDING THE GEARS OUT AS LONG BEFORE YOU SHIFT. IT'S GONNA BE TRIAL AND ERROR TO SEE WHAT WAY WORKS THE BEST FOR YOU

yes me and the friend on the banshee are around the same riding ability, but the guy on the Z400 has been riding quads 4EVER, so how much throttl when dumping the clutch in 2nd gear on the start.

as much as you can without over-revving or standing it on the grab bar when u dump it. Just start lower, then move up.
