banshee rear tires suck
#1
i just took my 00' banshee out for the first time and only 2 hours into the ride the right rear got slit open. i have always heard that the first thing to do is replace them and now i know why. so my question is what are the prefered replacement for the shee. also i'm going to be buying some paddles and need to know the best size and wether to go with straight haulers or angled paddles like sand skates. i'm new to the banshee world and would like any input from the experienced!!!!!! thankx all....Erik

The stock tires really don't suck that bad... It is just coincidence that your tire slit on the first couple of hours. I had my stock tires awile they wore great and i had no problems with them on rocks, dirt, and even pavement!. The V paddles work good, especially when turning.

I have a 86 trx250r and one of my freinds has a y2k banshee he loves his rear tires and even is thinking about puting some new ones like that on his 99 warrior I don't understand he never hooks up till about 4 gear and he says they get great traction hum weird. and about the paddles it depends on what you are doing drag racing or allaround duning for all around v paddles are the way to go and for draging haulers are the best. I have maxxis 20/11/9 razr's on my 250r and I love them they are the 6 ply's so I don't have to woory about flats like on my holeshot mx's I only had maybe 4 hours on them before they slit. but I had my stcok 250r wtores for maybe a year and had only 1 flat.

i would have to agree that the stock tires are something of a joke. personally, i think the most popular & the best all around use tire are the ITP holeshots. for the sand i use a set of sand devil straight paddles. don't know about the angles paddles -- they would be interesting to try. one more word of advice: for now, just leave the front tires stock -- they're only front tires...

Have you ever really looked at the tread on stock banshee tires. Both wheels have the exact same pattern angle. It seems sometimes when you jump a banshee the rear end swings a little to the right. This makes perfect sence, because thats the way the treads are angled. If you were to take one tire off the rim and flip it and put it back on, there would be a V pattern between the two tires instead of a angle. Just a thought. You might be able to get better traction this way. I personally never tried it, because I dont have a banshee yet, but would think it would probably work a lot better.

GREAT IDEA, My banshee slides easily to the right but won't slide to the left as well, Maybe swichting it around will give me better all around traction. And what is with people trashing stock tires, Mine have help up great and one of my favorite things to do is leave nice long black marks on the pavement.lol
