Just picked up our 1st of two Rincons we've purchased. Who carries insurance on them? Do you find it necessary? What about the idiots that ride to fast and run into you?

 

i have full coverage on both my rincons with $100 deductable with State Farm. gives me peace of mind cause it covers theft, colision and medical. at $10 a month (each) it cant be beat. my quads are also street legal and insurance is reguired in arizona for that but i would/did carry the insurance anyway. too many thefts and accidents not to have it.

 

I am looking into it but in California it's quite a bit more than in Az. thanks for the info

This might be a stupid question but what did you do to make your Quads street legal. The reason I ask is because the other day I got pulled over for riding on the shoulder of the road and it pissed me off and I threated to make the quads street legal right then and there.

 

not a stupid question at all.

in arizona, an ATV (quad) can be made street legal through the addition of a horn and a mirror and carrying proper insurance. the rincon already had the break lights, headlights as required. after that, all i had to do was go to DMV at tell them i needed to register my vehicle. they gave me a plate and off i went. they used to inspect but found most dmv folks didnt know the laws and so they figured it was on us if we got pulled over.

not sure what is required in other places, start by checking laws in your area.

I don't have full coverage or anything like that. Basically what my insurance agent said that since I race my quad they wont do full coverage but if it gets stolen or I get in a wreck in my truck and my quad is in the back or my barn burns down with my ride in it then they will cover it.

 

I brought a 2003 Honda Rancher Es 350 4x4, and yes that was the first thing I did was get insurance for it.

 

Insure it.... ATVs get stolen all the time.
