New Tires
#1
I've put in an order for 04 cat 400i. I am planning to up grade my tires and the leading contender is the itp 589m/s in 26-9-12 & 26-12-12. I want to maintain easy steering, and deep snow and mud capibility. I at first was going with mud lites in 26-10-12 & 26-12-12, but I'm concerned about ease of steering after reading some other posts concerning mude lites. What are thoughts on the right tire and size. Thanks

i think 26-10 mudlites would not be that hard to steer. those tires are relatively new though so i would cruise around the forums and do searches on the subject. i do know they perform great and i will probly get mudlites for my next set.

I have an 03 400i and I put on the 589's I just went with stock size though, they seem to work extremely well, a little rough at really low speeds on hard ground but not annoying, as for steering it is still really easy. Plus they look mean

You think I should go that low??? I was going to try 4-4.5 and see how that works, I am at 5 now I think but not really sure, I always double on mine so I dont want to go to low on pressure. bUt i guess it is easy enough to put more in anyways.

i run 3psi in my Gators and it works great.my freind has a honda 450 forman with 589s and hes running 3psi also. hes the gut the told me to let more air out. they have a 6ply rateing so its a thick side wall.just go to canadian tire and get one of those 10 doller air compressors and a tire gauge and then you can play with it till its the way you like it.
