Default have some questions about my new 03 400 i

My computer has been down almost since I got my new bike, so I have a few questions for the experts...
1. whenever it gets good and hot, the idle seems to speed up, to the point that if your in neutral it kinda jumps when you shift into first, and it doesn't seem to want to start very well.
2. what kind of oil do you use, for the first time I got the A/c brand synthetic, that's what I was told to do by 2 different dealers..but damn that's expensive $28.50 for gallon of oil, 1 filter and a funnel

got my wife the same atv and have had none of the problems with the idle to date. she now has 680 miles on the atv with no complaint. sorry i cant help you there. my personal opinion is that the synthetic oil is the best regaurdless of the cost. it performs well in extreme heat and cold- what could be better?

sounds like a slight idle adjustment needed and possibly an airfilter problem. even new my dealer has had some problems with airflow causing wierd things. we had a prob with the 01 300 of my wifes and it turned out to be the air filter.
also might want to look at the spark plug, and the dealer myght want to check the internal setting on the carb for richness.

I have had 2 03 400i's one auto and sold it and now have a manual.

I use regular texaco havoline motor oil 10w30 or 10w40 with an additive to cool the oil down.

I also recommend a K&N air filter.
