I just got in from a weekend outing to the high desert with some serious riding with some friends. 340 miles in 3 days. Anyway, to get to the point. Have any 500 Auto owners noticed that after about 10 miles of continous riding that the transmissiion housing gets quite warm or even hot. I noticed it, as it was starting to get very warm even through my boots. Is this normal, I dont have any noises or any other types of problems. It just gets the belt housing case real warm.

Sounds like a good time riding! I just got back from our property up north. Quite a bit of riding, and a lot of work, but it was a ton of fun. Actually, I've noticed the same thing with our 'Cats. They get pretty warm through my jeans, as my boots aren't that high. It is warm, but not hot. Haven't had any trouble though, and all the fluid levels check out OK, so I'll assume it's just normal. May not be comforting, but at least you know you're not alone!

Because the AC has a cast aluminum cover on the belt it picks up heat from the engine. I wouldent worry about it at all. My Grizz cover gets hot also but my kodiak with a plastic cover is barley warm to the touch.
