cat 90

Call me crazy, but I see 2 problems here. I'm not knocking your parenting or anything, take these for what you will.
1. The AC 90 (or any quad of that size) is not designed for a 7 year old. I don't know many 7 year olds who can safely handle a quad like that. But to each his own.... maybe you have a bigger kid. I wouldn't put my kid on one that big until he was older. Don't the guidelines say age 12 for a quad that size?
2. I wouldn't be encouraging my child to jump a quad that was not designed for that. These things have almost no suspension travel, and are not exactly built for this type of activity. Proportionatly, it probably doesn't weigh much more than your kid (i.e. I weigh about a third of my quad's weight, but your child might be closer to half of his - it makes a difference in the performance, as well as the weight distribution).
I don't think you can get much more out of it though, if more power is what you are looking for.

well your wrong on several counts.
1) my son fits on the 90 fine. if you have seen one you would know a 50 has no power for a kid his size. also my son has been riding since he was 3 on a suzuki jr 50. so he is experienced for his age. its all about teaching your kids how to respect the machine and it's cappabilities. if you look in any atv/off road magazine you would see kids are starting off youngerr and younger these days.
my nephew is 12 and is on a lt 230 quade sport. he is to big for a 90 as recommended ( rember its a recommendation ) by the manufacture.
thanks but i found out if you lower the rear sprocket and put a black magic pipe on it it will do close to 45.

It makes very little sense to put an experienced 7yr old[under adult visual supervision] on an ATV any smaller than 90cc.Nor does it make any sense to put an experienced 12-15yr old on a 90cc.
Folks work to damn hard for their money today just to make the manufactures happy with these age/cc recommendations.Educate the parent or gaurdian of the youth in the safe and responsable use of ATVs,than do the same thing with the youth.Allways make sure that anyone under 16yrs old is under VISUAL supervision while operating their ATV,and enjoy!

remove all the factory restrictors(carb, torque converter, spark arrester and open throttle screw) this will get you about 35 mph. if you lower the rear sprocket to 50 tooth with a pipe it will get you around 46 mph. The pipe can be bought from shark cycle at sharkcycle.com.
i got all of this info from www.swbike.com chat room. My son loves his atv and realizes that if you ride like an idiot and don't respect your machine you can get hurt or killed. trust us we have seen people get pretty messed up riding in the birkshier mountaines in massachusetts.
