When you put in the zuki diff did you have to change the left axle to a shorter one?

I put the KQ diff in and took it to Gorilla to have the custom axles built using the KQ inner and Cat outer CVs. The axle shafts were built to the specs of the bike with the lift on to determine the exact length. Yes the left axle is shorter by about 1 inch.

Thanks ODB.

I am about 3/4 done with the switch on my old 98. I was lucky because unlike the newer A/Cs my drive shafts fit in the Suzuki diff except for the length on the left side. No frame mods either. I am ether going to shorten my existing axle or I try to find a used axle out of a Suzuki or 300 A/C.

Another question for ya, did you use the cable shift or shaft style?

The swap is much easier on the old Cats and Quad Runner 4x4s because the demensions of the differentials and inner CVs are the same as the KQ. I used the shifter cable off the KQ. The shaft style shifter will not work without a lot of fabrication.

A good machine shop can shorten your existing axle and weld it back up in a few minutes.

The only thing you must be aware of is, the final drive gear ratio of the KQ diff is 3.10, The final drive gear ratio of the old Cats is 3.60. This is the reasoning behind the KQ using the 1" smaller diameter tire in the front.
