Default Just raced SP700 against a 650 Cat

You Cat guy`s have nothing to fear of the Polaris 700. I just raced my Sportsman 700 with a new Cat 650 and got wipped big time. Not even real close, it beat me off the line and just kept on leaving me right up to top end. We swapped drivers and the result was still the same. My 700 even had a clutch kit and a k&N filter. I have a 650LE ordered and can now hardly wait to get it!!!!!!!!

Racing with a new 650 Cat, what a way to break it in, take em both in the mud and tells us what the outcome is, they're utilities, not sport bikes.

That is interesting. I have a 2002 Vinson 500 auto with HMF exhaust, dyno-jet kit, and twin air filter. In a drag I jump both off the line, then the 700 catches up slowly due to a slightly higher top speed. The Cat never does. The 700 even gets the Cat off the line. Man does that Cat have some torque though. We are all running stock tires. Does your 700 have after market tires? We run with two 700's and one Cat, and the results are the same with both. Not disputing you, just interesting. Will tell my buddy his should be faster so he can have it checked out.

My 700 has stock tires, only mods are the filter and clutch kit.

Hey Beck, that was a cat 650 you were racing? I could believe those results on a cat 500, but would have thought the cat 650 would have faired better.

It is a 650. The HMF and dyno-jet does wonders on the 2002 Vinson as far as acceleration. The guy did have the 500i before the 650, and it wasn't even in the same area code. But remember, Cat is all about torque and mud, They are great there, just not near as fast as their donor the Prairie. That is a different story. Tried one of them once in a drag. Never again!!!!!

Yeah my Prairie is a quick 1, but I miss the ground clearance. I like to play in the mud!
