Next week I will now how long it will be befor I move, Possibly within three weeks. So that got me to thinking "my dad always said that was dangerous". Since I will no longer have to use the Cat for work everyday I can have some fun with it.
So I started to ask myself what would it take to make the AC 500 the best quad out their,,,well thats and easy one,,,,part time locking frt diff, to get ride of that dumb limited slip. So I had an Idea, would it be possible to take a frt end from a 'Zuki King Quad or a Quad Master and mate it with the bullet proof Tranny, and awsome power plant that the cat alreadly has??? that would but all other Atv to shame, non if this fancy power to the wheel that slip bull (polaris, and traxter, but pos-trac on demand. If you can It would make the AC 500 have 2wd, 4wd limited slip, and Pos trac, all on demand,,,,wow that would be awsome.
The cat alreadly has ample ground clearance and supension travel "the best in the industry". With the lift, body roll is almost non-existant. More than enough power and the tranny puts the power to the ground beautifuly. But with Pos-trac it might even be a good Idea to change the gearing and make 1st a low,low gear, and bump the others down, 2-1 3-2 4-3 5-4, since the big cats are very slow anyway why not make first a crawling gear for pulling.

any ideas?

BigCat:
I like your thinking. Let me know if you are able to come up with something, that would indeed be truly awesome. Glad to hear you'll be able to start enjoying the 'Cat, rather than having to work it all the time. Good luck with your new job, and I hope everything works out for the best.

I thought of this a few months before you were here. So I won't get on you (too hard) about stealing.

Use an Arctic Cat 300 front differential. It is the same as the King Quad and AC parts are cheaper than Suzuki Parts.

Guys I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this idea was tried by someone else on this forum. They found out that the Kings front diff has a different gear ratio. This means you would need a ratio matching gear box. Or a really odd tire combo. I believe this other person used the gear box. But it was expensive to have built and complicated to install I.E. not worth the trouble.
