Toyota Owners- Question
#2
Hey Remotrucker, I have a '97 AC 454 and a "85 toyota ext cab 4x4 and when I tried to put it in the back my rims would rub hard on the wheel wells. I will be putting a flat deck on( because of the normal rust problems with Toyota boxes) so to solve my problem now, I just persuaded the wheel wells in with a hammer. I also clamped a piece of 2x10 board so the front bumper would'nt go through my rear window by accident.

I have to leave the tailgate down and use a couple of tie down straps so it didn't roll out the back. As for spare room there is only what you can get in the corners in front of the wheel wells i.e. jerry cans or stuff like that

When I first bought my 500i, we brought it home in my buddy's Taco - regular cab. It barely fit, but we got the tailgate closed. extended cab's have shorter beds.
I have since bought a new Ranger with xtended cab - the Cat fits (very tight) but hangs out the back a little.
I find it's best if you back it in to these small beds. The front bumper overhangs enough to go through the rear glass, but the rear bumper stops at the wheels.
