Try this site for the black spring instillation.

Nyroc old data base. You can only get on between 12 AM and 8:59 AM EST.

should give you the how too! Yep, the dial-a-jets work well.

Check out:

It's in the belt deflection/adjustment/measurement section. It's pretty easy to do if you make the spring compressor. You don't have to remove the black fender plastic, just bend it out of the way.

I talk to Ty at EPI on Friday, he does the testing on thier clutching. He said the belt deflection is off on the AC 650. You need to take a shim out of the driven/ secondary clutch and he said to use the black spring in the secondary. Then use the pink spring in the primary. This will make your belt last alot longer and give you more bottum end and midrange. Ty said the AC 650 was a great ATV but has too much belt deflection. He said you need to at least take a shim out of the seconday.

All machines are different, get or borrow a manual, and check for your self. Some p650's had no shims from the factory, some had two.

Most p650 owners adjust to .87, the minimum deflection specified by the manual,

My cat came with a thin and thick shim. Removing the thin shim made the belt good. It squeeled a bit at idle in gear for a bit (until the belt wore in), but now it's great.

Really improved the engine braking too. The belt was too loose from the factory.

Now that I have my Cat 650 LE and have had a chance to get some riding in, here are my views on my Cat vs the Prairie 650 it replaced:
Excellent acceleration, just like the Prairie
The Goodyear Radial tires are great IF you are only going in a straight line, other than that, these GY Radial tires are pieces of crap, way to dangerous for my liking. The sidewalls flex way too much, no matter how much air is in them. These Radials are also a very poor tire for Snow riding, too much slippage & spinning. Even though my Cat 650 was the lead 4wheeler breaking trail thru a foot of snow, this C650 was working hard to get traction climbing up a canyon snow trail on the way to a Fire Lookout tower.
My Goodyear non-radial Mudrunner tires on going on December 30th.
Nice soft seat on the Cat
Easy access to the rear spark plug
The front storage (tank area) is a nice touch
I like the bigger gas tank, 2 more gallons vs the Prairie
Same easy to read & easy to use digital instruments
Starts easier than my Prairie 650s
Stock Jetting on the Cat 650 works fine to 10,113 ft elevation
2wd/4wd works smoother than the Prairie 650
This Cat 650 has a nicer & better limit-slip front dif
Rear foot brake needs some help on the Cat 650, not impressed with it but may just need more break-in miles on the use of this brake, as it won't hold my 650 on a steep hill & for me to use my left hand to change gear selection
Gear shifter is a smooth operation
Off-camber is great
Extra suspension travel is a Plus
IRS is a Big Plus on this Big Cat & that VTwin engine is the Best
Just like the Prairie 650, love that sound coming from the VTwin motor
Fit & Finish on my LE 650 is perfect
Love that color, can always find where I parked my Cat in the woods.

I posted some pics on www.webshots.com of a ride in December of this year. Feel free to view them, this is a free site, just enter bfb650b2 in the members block on the bottom of the page in the Community section. Can't seem to get the Guest section to work with webshots but I haven't given up on it yet, no doubt I know I am doing something wrong.

650bearcat- glad to see you liking your new Cat. If you noticed earlier in this thread, I changed to mudbugs and a friend changed to mudlights- we both love the change. You will not believe the difference. I agree with most of your comments on the big Cat. I have had a couple of minor problems so far- shifter linkage came loose and wouldn't shift, choke does not work( think cable is broke), loose belt issue(took shim out and added black epi spring)' toe in/out was out to lunch(this fix alone helps the steering a lot) All minor warrantee stuff so far. Overall, love it. Been out with Grizzlies,Bombs and Polaris' and so far- cannot be outdone( at least in this deep snow!) Love the overall feeling of toughness to.

I'm glad you guys are happy with the new AC. How could it be bad with all the power and torque of the 650! Ac's were torque monsters with the 500, I can't imagine a 650!

I hope no one starts pulling with one.

The Stock Wheels on the Cat are a bit of a bummer, as there is NO center hole & because this center hole is not there, you can not use a tire machine to change out those crappy Radial tires to some much better meats.
Had to use the Buddy system instead & with the help of my trucks left front tire, my Buddy & I finally got all 4 wheels to break the bead & now the Mudrunners are on the Cats stock LE Chrome wheels. The 26 inch Mudrunners added another inch of ground clearance over the Stock Radials.
Be doing the belt adjustment & black spring on New Years Day.

Most tire shops have a tire machine that will work (that has the fingers that grab the rim lip). Most car rims are mags, and don't have a center hole as well.
