Default Oil Filter?

Hello everyone.

I have a 2003 400 4x4 automatic in need of an oil change. My dealer has gone out of business and the next nearest dealer sells Suzuki. I'm pretty sure my machine has a Suzuki engine in it so they should have the filter I need. Their guys don't know which filter would go w/my engine and that confuses the heck out of me. SO I called a Cat dealer who says he only has the Cat part number. So I called Mother Cat, of course they refuse to help me and continue to turn me back to my out of business cat dealer.

Basically what I am asking is: Does anyone know what suzuki part I need? I would take mine off and bring it to Suzuki, but the machine is a couple hours from here and the shop is 2 miles from here so I'm hoping to get one before I leave for the weekend.

Also, is there something all of us Cat owners can do to get Cat to hire just 1 technical person to help us? I'm going to start writing letters. It angers me that they have such a great product, but such poor support. I don't want to have to do this but I might start buying someone else's atv's.

Do a search in this forum for oil filters. If you don't find anything try the High Lifter forum under Arctic Cat and search for oil filter. One of the two has a listing for oil filter numbers from WalMart that will fit AC machines. I would post, but am not sure about the number and don't want to make a mistake. Good Luck.

Hey thanx. I'll hunt it down.

But listen to this... I just talked to a lady @ Arctic Cat and any of you who are dealers are gonna love this. She gave me an 888 number to call w/my questions, I thought she was being nice and giving me the dealer support number. Turns out it is their local dealer. I told her I refuse to waste the time of a dealer I have not and may not ever spend a dollar with. I just tried to call that dealer and let them know they are doing Arctic Cat's customer service for them.

0436-146 is the Arctic Cat part number. They do come in the suzuki box and I believe the suzuki number is on the box.

I have a filter right here, the part #for Suzuki is 16510-44D10.It is an Arctic cat filter but it only has 1 little tag that says Arctic Cat everything else says Suzuki genuine parts..The filter itself only says Arctic Cat though. Also it is made in Japan.(could be different for Canada though)Pretty much sure you could just ak for an Eiger filter at your Suzuki dealer (same engine).
