Hello, just thought i would write everyone and say....... I LOOOOOVE MY ARCTIC CAT!!..ive got around 2000 miles on it right now...oh by the way its a '98 454. AC is giving Honda a run for its money as for as being the dependability king. One of the only problems i have had...and its my fault..i overtightened the front differential drain plug and striped the housing, but thats taken care of. Since i've had it, i have had 2 MAJOR roll overs..and everyone with a 600+ lb quad knows, its hard not to tear something up if they roll. My 1st roll was due to driver error..hehe something to do with gravity..and hills..err..you know what i mean..anyway, New handle bars, new shock, and minus 1 speedometer later ..(thats why i said AROUND 2000 miles earlier), my 2nd roll was due to the rear brake pad wearing down...i guess my fault again...the piston fully extended on the caliper and all the brake fluid leak out, while me and my friend were on a long ride. i noticed the brakes were getting a little soft, but didnt think anything due to the fact we were hitting huge water/mud puddles at pretty high speeds. but anyway lets just say..dont try going up steep hills without brakes..especially when you dont make it to the top and have to try to ease down..I just thought i would right all you AC owners and tell you , you have the best ATV out there. Mine has been through alot..a whole lot..and it runs great. OH Yeah...those suzuki motors get faster the more they break in...my 454 will barely out run my roomates AC500, but he only has about 400 miles on his. So just change the oil and Ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yo AC454, remember me, BONER? When do you go in the chat room.

I, and SOME of my family, love my Artic Cat 500 too. In fact my uncle like mine so much he might sell his Honda 350 and get an Arctic Cat 500 for him. His farvorite thing about it is the reverse gear, he likes how fast it is, but I like how much better my 500 rides better than his "tank". We have yet to see which pulls which because he is too scared hook-up with me even though he has 26-11-11 Bi-Claws and he weighs about 230 and I weigh 160. I thought i had broke the front suspension when I was doing about 40 mph and didn't see an irigation ditch, a square 12x12 ditch, untill I was about 10 feet away, I grabed the brakes and hit it and I heard a large clunk and stoped about 10 feet away from the ditch. When i checked everything out, nothing was wrong so I kept on rideing.

Not much but so far I got it about 3-feet off the ground. Thats nothing compared to you jumping a V.W. Bettle though. I do alot of riding on 2(side) wheel though. I have been trying to ride a wheelie like you told me, but I can't seem to shift to 2nd gear fast enough. Does your roomate go to the forum?

I rolled mine over by going around a cornor to fast and losing it. i busted my spedo and the handelebars r bent...my front shock is also leaking.,..GOin to get that fixed and ride. Ive got about 800 miles on mine right now and the only major proublm i had ewas the rely switch went bad (makes fan turn on and off and made the "overheat" light stay on)

The shocks and handle bars are easy to replace, the bars are a little time consuming though. You do know you can get the shock w/o the coils.
