2002 500i 4x4 a/c stock

 

i haven't been able to find out much, but on monday i am having a clutch kit installed, i'll let you know how goes.

 

The 03 have noticably more power, I belive the only engine change was that they went to a 36 verses a 34 carb. A jet kit and a new mufler or the muffler mod should help out allot.

 

To make the 02 500 run better you can install the 2003 piston (higher compression), cam(more duration), and carb(bigger). If you need more power look at a Black Magic full exhaust system. All it takes is money!

I looked into the difference between the 02 Cat 500i and Vinson. What I was told:

Larger carb
Revised valve timing
slightly higher compression ratio

Or in other words, not just a bolt on operation. More than I wanted to fool with.

wtb, i got my clutch kit put in and semed to help a little. it doesn't seem to lose as much speed when going up hill. I talked to guy who installed the kit and he suggested that i try a bigger piston and a new pipe, so that is the next thing i am going to do, only it won't be done for a couple of weeks. if you would like i will keep you posted on how it turns out.
