Default artic cat 500i question

howdy , i just bought my new arctic cat 500 on friday. i love it so far, but the only problem is when i shift from low to high and shift into first it clicks and wont go anywhere. It also does it some times when i shift up from one gear to the other. it only happens in high.
has anyone else experienced this. i only have 7 miles on it. does it get better as it gets broke in or do i need to take it to the dealer and have some work done on it. Any help would appreciated.

Whats up? you didnt mention if it is a Auto of manual. I have a Auto and if I go from High to Low everything will be fine. But when I got from Low to High it does not come out of gear all the way and then it will stop and start clicking then it will be in gear. Its no big deal whenever I go from Low to High I just go back to neutral first then back to High it just sticks a bit. That is when I had 4 miles on it now I have about 80 miles and it is getting better. but this machine rocks in the mud even without a locker I have gotten through places that most machines wouldnt make it.

It happens because your idle is set to high. I just bought my new 2004 500 Automatic last tuesday and it did the same thing. I noticed it seemed to idle to fast, so I adjusted it back down, and that also took care of the grinding.

I adjusted the Idle just about as low as it will go and it still does it. I have had to ajust it a few times but it is almost broke in and I have not had to touch the Idle.

if its a manual the high to low does that from time to time because the gears dont mesh properly, all I do is put the gear shift back to neutral and rock it back and forth a bit and the gears mesh and its all good. I have noticed it not to do it as much as it gets broke in. As for the speed tranny its probably your idle being a bit high.
