Trex200; Shaving the head refers to milling metal off the surface of the head that contains the combustion chamber, there by decreasing the volume of the chamber. This in turn raises the compression ratio, making more power. However the down side is you have to run premium fuel only.

I have had my 250 up to 53 on the road. In trails i hit 35-40. Mostly 35. Fastcat you say u use ur fifth alot. I don't really use mine its like and overdrive. I think 5th is pointless cause its hard enuff to top 4th. I dunno though I would like to do some exhuast mods to my 250. I alrdy changed tires. Other than that nothing cuase no one makes anythin. I have though found universal white bros and megamax that will fix the 250. Also found universal supertrapp IDS2. Maybe I better stick to my sport 400 or DVX.

Deathbringr; I would find 53 as probaly a speedo that reads rather high. Mine has been clocked by three other quads, plus a radar gun. The quads all read 45 to 47 mph, the radar said 46 in 5th wound tight, not against the rev limiter however. 4th gear against the rev limiter on a slight down slope pulled 44 mph. All testing done after a fresh tune and with fresh middle grade fuel over a quarter tank of regular. I will be stop watching it along with several others in a week or so over an 1/8 mile straight away out at the airport.

Deathbringr; I keep up with my buddy's P700 on trails too. On the beach or a flat straight road is the only place he escapes and only till it gets twisty again. Time the bike over a measured distance or go to the drag races and then tell me 53mph and I will believe it. For that matter your buddy's Warrior could be a pig.

not even gona waste the effort. Just got my new quads puttin the 250 up for sale. Don't feel like breaking it now. But i think u are right bout the speedo cause i took out my buddies dual sport and we clocked 45. O well enuff said i'm done with the 250 did its duty for the time it was good for me now its just slow and away from what I want to do.
