Starting to wonder about AC quality

hey storm doesn't matter what brand you buy you can get a lemon and thats what you got if i was you i would call the company in thief river falls minnesota if you need the number i can give it to you and talk to there warranty department and i knew a guy that worked in the warranty department and tell them if they don't give you a new fourwheeler you are gonna go buy a polaris they will give you a brand new one cause the polaris factory is less then 60 miles away and they don't wanna lose business there, and then they will take your fourwheeler beat the living bajesus out of it and then they will use that info on determining what they can do to make the future wheelers better good luck storm i am sorry to hear of anyone having bad luck with any fourwheeler cause we are all about the same thing being able to enjoy ourselves or work with them and not having to worry bout if they are reliable or even safe

heyyou,
I can understand your frustration...!! But I for my part would just go ahead and get the DFS2-13 Ignition from www.dynaonline.com. This is what I'm going to do when I get that 650, sure it cost some $$ but it also gets that 650 rockin' if you want. ...just my 2 cents...

Sorry to hear about your problems, Stormdog, but our 2004's have been trouble free and we've now got over 500 miles on each. I think the 'lemon' comment by another poster might be it. And, you can get lemons no matter WHAT brand you buy.

Well I know the brake switch issue is common on the new ACs...so that's a lack of quality control. The parking brake issue is because the mechanism is made of plastic...other brands use metal for that entire assembly. So that's cheap materials on ACs part. The starter going out could be a freak accident I suppose. The plastic **** falling off...that could be a better design too. The issues I'm having so far are not because mine is a lemon....they are because of poor engineering. My uncle has a 2000 model AC, my dad has a 2003 model AC and they haven't had as many problems as me. I think the newer ACs are getting "cheaper" in the quality department. I've been without my AC for another two weeks this time...I'm going to get it Friday and if it's not ready I am trading it for another brand. I was all about jumping on the Arctic Cat bandwagon....but now they are starting to let me down.

My 01 300 has been pretty good. Only had it in the shop three times in three years. Once because the breaks were so squeeky that i couldnt drive it any more, once becuase the voltage meter went, and once just for a tune up. But other than that it has been a good machine.

Since AC doesn't make any engines (until the 'new' 650 that's supposed to be coming out), any engine weaknesses could actually be blamed on those other manufacturers. Suzuki, Kawi, etc. Nevertheless, I'm sorry to hear about your problems. I HATE it when anything I buy has problems.

my 5 year old cat has 1738 miles on it. Not a single problem from the purchase date. Nothing had to be fixed, except the fenders when I crashed into a tree stupidly speeding down a tight winding woods trail.
I dont know about you guys, but does it seem that arctic cat is now concentrating too hard on their atv looks and not enough on quality? quite a few of newer models are experiencing problems.
kudos to arctic cat for their kick a$$ designs tho... check out the 2005 650's and 500's
